Pensby Post (Final Draft)

The Final draft has finally been completed!
Still using the 'Picnik' technique, i managed to fill in more spaces this time and even added an issue number.

Pensby Post (second draft)

This is the second (and improved) draft of the Pensby post cover. Still using the 'Picnik' technique for editing. Unlike the previous draft, this does have added motion, such as the lightning bolts bursting out of the guitar, giving off the impression of a bursting rock attitude into the atmosphere.

Pensby Post (first draft)

This is the first draft done by a website called 'Picnik', a photo editing website free for any user in the world. I used one in tire picture as the front cover, with all sorts of editing, including colour tones, added text and symbols. These are all used to make the picture more attractive, to grab a readers attention and turn the page too read.

Photography legality in schools

In order to prevent the violation of parents and childs wishes regarding photographing the pupils for promotional or work related purposes the school may require, when all pupils join the educational establishement, all parents are requied to sign a disclamer saying that the school can legally take the photos if they are not to be published in any form of public media.

Mr Sheridan, after consultation, approved this statement for our research: "It is legal to take photos of the school and it's pupils as long as the images are not reproduced or copied or published, without the express written permission of the school administrators. This is agreed by the parents and the school whenthey join the establishment"

Magazine deconstruction

Hilbre Endeavour Magazine

The title for the Hilbre Endeavour is at the top of the page, in a large white font, but unlike King Edward, the logo of the school is next to the title at the right hand side.
This would give more awareness of slight professionalism within the magazine, the front cover shows school members, both students and staff; this would represent an atmosphere of team work which would give the school a better reputation.  They are all wearing building protection hats; this could be hinted at the new 6th form block that is currently being built at Hilbre. Below at the bottom left are teasers, giving in what’s in store inside the magazine, such as: Fair Trade, Ones Goal, Humanities Week, Cape Town and much much more!

King Edward School Magazine

The King Edward Magazine has used a white title, the word ‘High’ in a Berlin sans font, whilst the word ‘Profile’ is in a white Arial font, the entire front cover is one picture, of what looks like a drama performance, students dressed up in various amounts and types of clothing, this is a possibly to represent the school, as being described as drama being its main succeeded subject at the school. At the bottom is the title ‘Hair Raising show’ being aimed at the picture on the magazine for its drama performance, this is possibly giving a clue that this performance is not to be missed and there is a review article of the play in the magazine.

Below are teasers of what this magazine has still yet got in store for us too read, containing articles such as Politics, growing up in Korea and many more.

The Pensby School magazine

The 'Pensby Post' has been continuing for nearly six successful years, showing video game reviews, to latest updates, and too student success such as personal achievements and exam results. But now, the 'Pensby Post' has agreed to preview some new articles, one of which is representing the Musical talent of Pensby.

The 'Pensby Post' has reached a new level of articles, the music articals has been described as "possibly the most successful and most readable articles that the 'Pensby Post has to offer". It first occurred to the 'Pensby Post' team that they needed something new in their series of monthly Pensby magazines. The team began to notice that there was a lot of 'musical activity' among the school, such as many students from a mixture of year groups creating their own bands, taking there music styles to new limits, making new styles and recreating music from previous era's.

Several bands of Pensby have performed in a variation of shows and gigs, including Pensby's very own 'Christmas Concert', there have been many school bands with local success, one of which is a band lead by graduate sixth form student Adam Chadwick, performing from gig to gig all around Merseyside.

It has also been announced that Pensby High Schools musical orchestra will be composing music for school play 'Grease', scheduled for 2011, expressing more musical talent within the schools presence.

These changes and new articles are yet to come in next months issue of the 'Pensby Post'.
